- The first thing you’ll want to know is what is my home’s value? To find that out, you’ll go to your local county appraisal district website and do a simple search to find it. You can also have an appraiser come out and appraise your home. Typically, that costs you $400 to $500, but it’s well worth it to get an accurate value of your home.
- What are my required repairs? Most of the time when you are selling your home FSBO you will need to make repairs. Typically, the way to find what repairs cost is by getting bids through contractors(I recommend three different repair bids to be safe). You can usually find licensed and bonded contractors on Angie’s List or websites of that sort.
- How do I market my home properly? We’ve already determined its value. We’ve gotten the proper repairs done. Now we’re ready to put that home on the market. There are several websites you can go to, to market your home for pretty much free, the following are just a few: Realtor.com, Craigslist and Facebook Market Place.
